It's not about graphics, Enigmatics. It's about gameplay, fun factor and replayability. It's like saying that the Great Wall of China should be torn down because it's ancient and there are better looking walls in the world. It's like saying that Casablanca, arguably one of the greatest movies of all time, should be colorized because black and white cinametography sucks and today's computerized colorization "rulz".

The Diablo series, even D1, STILL draws tens of thousands each day. I doubt that any "graphically wondrous" game will be able to match them.

I feel ashamed, I didnt even think of Zelda.

D2 still takes the cake, But The legend of Zelda for the SNES has to recognized in this long list of great games. (dont get me wrong the NES version was great, but the SNES version is the best out of all Zealda games)

Best game EVER? Well, the obvious answer:

Tetris.

Nothing can beat Tetris.

Best RPG: Final Fantasy VIII. Squall is a character you can relate to, unlike overrated Cloud who's just plain crazy.

Best FPS: Half-Life. I don't think there's any need for explanation here. Next please.

Best RTS: Starcraft. Again, no explanation required.

Best platformer: Super Mario Brothers 3. Most people prefer SM World, but I've always preferred the NES classic.

Best racing game: Burnout 3. I've never had FUN with a racing game until I saw this. It was the sole reason I bought my Xbox. :P

Sorry, I can't pick just one.

FFVII was the best of all the FF games. Its the only one that I could even get into.

FFVII wasn't even better than FFIV or FFVI. People think it was so great because it was the first one to show up on the Playstation, and "omg they killed Aeris!" I'm sorry... I can't help but laugh when I look at the blocky character models. Was it worth going "3D" just to have terrible looking characters? They looked like Lego men. And Cloud is just too hard to identify with, or have any sympathy for.

The best thing FFVII had going for it was the combat system. I did enjoy all the possibilities materia offered. But to call it the best FF ever? That's a bit much.
